Drašnice is a small seaside village on the Makarska Riviera, which belongs to the municipality Podgora in Split-Dalmatia County.
Village Drasnice which today has only about 300 inhabitants, is located in the bay Sveti Kriz about ten kilometers south of Makarska, on the way to Dubrovnik.
The remains of the material culture in the area Drasnica tell us that this small picturesque village is over 8000 years old, while the place Drasnice first time was mentioned in Turkish documents from the late 15th century.
Drasnice is specific by its well-preserved stone houses located under the Biokovo mountain. In front of some houses there are ancient tools for processing olives - "turnji", and within each house even today is authentic interior.
With the construction of the Adriatic Highway in 1962, Drašnice began to develop as a tourist destination, to which contributes the high insolation of the area and the beautiful pebble beaches.
